Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights

Released from Disney's GM Studios for a limited time only.  Mickey is commemorating the "Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights" which is shown only during the Holiday Season At MGM!  Mickey has on a red & green outfit, Santa hat with "The Osborne Family" embroidered on it, and holding a stuffed Reindeer that has "SPECTACLE OF LIGHTS 2001" on it.

The next Catalog has a street date of Dec 31st, 2001.  This catalog has lots of Valentines items and these new bean bags available in it.

Year of the Rat and Year of the Ox Pooh come to us as set #1 in Chinese Zodiac series and the set retails for $16.  Far right is Cape Cod Pooh which is #1 in the Travels with Pooh.  This Catalog exclusive retails for $8.  1950's Pooh which retails for $8.

Valentine's Day Bee Pooh & Piglet retails for $18. and is a Catalog exclusive. When you squeeze their tummies, their antennae light up.  Next is  1964 Pooh & Pals set which retails for $32.  Then on the far right is Bobsled Piglet & Tigger which is a catalog exclusive that retails for $20.

Limited Edition Exclusive to be released in UK Disney Stores on January 8, 2002

Pooh is dressed in a winters outfit with fur trim.  He is holding a baby seal

Eeyore is dressed in a gold explorers outfit with fur trim accompanied by a baby seal.  Eeyore also has a small backpack that he can use to hold things that he has collected whilst out exploring.

Tigger is dressed in a velvet outfit with a fur trim.  In his backpack we see a penguin peaking from the side.

Black Bear Pooh

Pooh as Black Bear has just started to arrive in USA Disney Stores.  This is the third Pooh bear release we have seen in the USA.

December 21 Japan Disney Stores released Sea Otter Pooh and Capricorn Pooh.  They are both retailed for 980 yen.
Star Sea Otter Pooh dangler 580 yen.

Two new Pooh bean bags have shown up in USA Disney Stores.  50's and 80' Pooh.  Also two new releases from The Emperors New Groove, Kuzco and Yzmathanks.

Coming Soon

Next year  Japan Disney Stores will release new Pooh series instead of Zodiac Pooh through a year they will release a new series called Birthstone series.   Japan Disney Stores will start to sell it on the 5th of January in 2002.  The first Birthstone pooh will be released then is Garnet Pooh which will sell for 1200 yen.

Also Owl ( Fukurou ) Pooh will be released on 26th of December at Japan Disney Stores in  this year. Owl is Fukurou in Japanese, so Fuku means lucky and have a symbolic meaning wishing happiness for the new year.   The Owl Pooh has a small gold mallet with tradition which brings lots of money.

Also JDS will release Lucky Owl Pooh Little Star and Dangle on 26th Dec.
Little Stars is 1200 yen, Dangle is 680 yen.

Milennium Pooh 2002

 To be released this week in UK Disney Stores Milennium Bug Pooh (as spelt on tag),  is already for sale in the Disney Store in Central Paris by the arch.

They had three whole racks full of them and no limit to how many you could buy. He looks a little like the last one, he is very soft and the silver is shiny. His wings, extra legs and antenna are black and silver parts, which are also soft and have a shiny glittery colour changing effect to it. On his belly it says "2002" in medium blue colour.

Sweater Pooh Update

In the park itself, nowhere could I find the new sweater set pooh, only
Eeyore and Tigger. I think they may have run out of stock again, even though
my mail order for them has said that I have got pooh.

What's coming next

Mickey & Minnie Valentine

Mickey and Minnie Valentines have been released at Disneyland.   They are holding heart valentines behind their backs with pictures of the other.  The normal button on their foots are hearts instead of the normal circle.  Mickey and Minnie join Pooh and Eeyore Valentines that were pictured just a few days ago.   Kit tells me that Eeyore is sold out in the parks.  I don't know if he will be replenished but I would guess he would be with Valentines being so far away.

WDW Christmas Releases

Just received my order from WDW.  Pictured here is Santa Mickey and Sugarplum Minnie 2001.  They sell for $8. each retail. 

Mickey doesn't not have a name on his tag.   Mickey is holding a fabric Candy cane.  His suit is a velvet type material trimmed in very soft fur.  His shoes have a leather type feel.  On Mickey's foot he has a Silver button which says Walt Disney World 2001 Happy Holidays.

 This is the second bean bag we have seen released with the name Sugar Plum Minnie (first one pictured below in purple).  This time they have added the date to her name.  Minnie is wearing a fur trimmed pink outfit made of satin and iridescent material.  Her wings are also made of iridescent material.  She has white cotton bloomers.  Minnie has a felt type crown which is also fur trimmed.  Instead of a button like Mickey, Minnie has 2001 embroidered on her right foot.

Lumberjack Pooh

  When you looked online just a couple of days after Lumberjack Pooh was released it was no longer available.   Frantically I wondered why I waited and why things have been so crazy with some of the releases this month.   So I decided to call the Catalog desk and see if there were any Lumberjack Pooh's to be found.  I was told that they were getting more in and I could back order some.  Just today I received notice that they were being shipped.   I also found it interesting that Lumberjack Pooh (named so online) was called Flannel Pooh over the phone and in my shipping confirmation today!

I am also told that Lumberjack Pooh is showing up in local USA Disney Stores.

Released today

Pooh 2002 and Eeyore 2002.  Both Pooh and Eeyore Jesters hats and red light up shirts.  When you press their shoulders their name with 2002 lights up.   Pictured above you can see the lit and version that is not lit.  Also Pooh is very much is a New Year style pooh with what looks like party squiggles on his shirt.  Both retail at £7.99

Monster Inc. Releases

On 8 February 2002 Monster Inc. will be released in the UK.   Today the Disney Store released Monster Inc. bean bags Mike and Sully as previously seen in the USA. 

Pictured above is Sully Plush at 16 inches retailing at £24.99 and sitting next to him is the Sully bean bag.   Mike was also released, one eyed monster.  He is shown in the picture to the right.  Which is the set that was available in the USA Catalog.

Next Weeks Releases

Next week UK Disney Stores will release Bug Pooh 2002.  As we have heard it is a silvery version of the Millennium Bug Poohs from the past.   The Big Bean tells me that it is "Bug Pooh 2002 comes in a Silver shinny costume. More shinny than the last Silver one.  Also the wings and arms are done in kind of sequined effect fabric (black background with sliver discs very very small disc, get the idea, like the chain mail type fabric but brighter and shinier) Look better than I though it would."

Pictured above is the previous Silver Millennium Bug Pooh released in 1999 and then the golden version called Century Pooh which was released last year.

Valentine Releases

Valentine Releases have just started to show up in Disneyland.  Here we see Bee Mine Pooh and Eeyore.  Valentine Eeyore resembles the Pooh Valentine that was released last year.

UK Zip-up Pooh in the USA

  There are some other noticeable differences.  In the picture below the UK version is on the left and the USA version is on the right.  Some noticeable difference is Pooh outfit.  Also the USA version does not have 2001 on his tree base as does the UK version.

Audrey wrote "I was in my local Disney store, Freehold, NJ and they have a Zip-up Tree Pooh that looks just like the UK one.  Pooh is holding a present inside and the inner lining is purple,  it says 2001 on his foot, and it zips around with a green plastic zipper.    Sells for $12 but is 50% off holiday stuff

Coming Soon

Next Tuesday's (11th of Dec) UK Disney Mbbp releases will be Pooh 2002 and
Eeyore 2002.  Both Pooh and Eeyore have hats on, similar to Jesters hats
and jumpers with what looked like squiggles on them, maybe they're party
streamers. 

The following weeks Bug Pooh 2002 is the same as the previous two years,
but a different color.  We couldn't make out what color he was from the
tiny picture, but it might have been bronze.

 2002 Happy New Year Mickey

 2002 HAPPY NEW YEAR MICKEY.   Here you see Mickey all dressed up in his Holiday Tuxedo outfit and top hat with red satin ribbon band.  His Red trousers have a black satin ribbon stripe down each side.  He has on a white satin vest with a bright gold bowtie.  If you press the top of his hat lights flash off and on 2002 , while the music to Auld Lang Sine plays.  The lights are unseen when not flashing.    On the bottom of his right foot is the silver disc which has Happy New Year 2002 Disneyland inscribed.

WDW also has 2002 Happy New Year Mickey currently available for mail order at $12 retail.  It is the same Mickey but I am unsure as to what is inscribed on his foot.

 Zip Up Christmas Tree

  Zip up Christmas Tree Pooh was released in the UK Disney Stores today.   The whole zip up pooh stands about 8 inches high. The date is on the base 2001.  On the top of the tree is a gold star.  Pooh is mini inside but looks slightly bigger than the recent Zip up ones.  Pooh is dressed as Santa and is holding a small present.  Zip Up Pooh Tree retails at £7.99

Christmas Cracker Pooh and Chocolates

Pooh comes with a red cardboard envelope. He is the same as last week's mini Santa Pooh that came with the round chocolate balls (pictured below), but this one has the red envelope and three little parcels which are chocolate. He'll retail at £4.99

Sega - Licensed Disney

Barb shares pictures of a set she obtained in Japan.  This set can be obtained in Japan only as amusement prizes.  They are made by Sega/Fantasy Amuse, which is licensed by Disney Enterprises.  They are of  super quality.  They do have other designs to include Holiday, animals and professions.  Some are plush and some are bean bag plush's.  This set shown is plush as it does not have beans and is approx. 6" tall.

Monster Set

Brand New Mbbp set coming to USA Disney Stores.   Here we see Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore dressed in Monster Costumes.  Pooh was scheduled for release in November and Piglet and Eeyore early December.

Disneyland Christmas Releases

Brand new Mbbp from Disneyland was just recently released.

Disneyland 2001 Santa Pooh bean bag. He is all dressed in his Santa red velvet jacket with white fur trim. It has 4 red Pooh patches, 3 on front and 1 on back. The back of the jacket has Happy Holidays 2001 embroidered in white. The big black , yellow buckled belt is shiny vinyl which matches his Santa boots. On the bottom of the left boot is a metal disc which has "Disneyland" 2001 Happy Holidays engraved on it. His Red Santa hat has a yellow simulated jingle bell. I Santa's hand is a carton of white milk and in the left hand is the cutest simulated Gingerbread Man cookie with black Mickey ears hat and red bowtie and pants with gold yellow buttons.

Tigger comes in a Reindeer costume.  He has 2001 embroidered in big green thread. He has Large red velvet bow around his neck and matching harness with simulated yellow jingle bells around his middle. His antlers are shiny beige velvet.  His left paw has a metal disc engraved with: "Disneyland 2001-Happy Holidays"

Globe Give-a-way

For the second year in a row JC Penney stores are giving away a Free Disney mini snow globe.  This year's globes look just like last years except that the characters have changed.  Last year they gave away Pooh family globes.  This year we see Mickey and Minnie.  Check with your local store for opening times.  I am sure they won't last long.  The ad states one per customer.  No quantity was mentioned.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well Thanksgiving is here and Christmas is around the corner.  Hard to think of but it won't be that long before the New Year and then Valentine's Day!   This year for Valentine's Day there will be a  Light up Pooh. Pooh will be dressed as a bee with light-up antennae.  Look out for Light Up Valentine Pooh in December in the USA.

Year of the Horse

Next release in Japan will be 2002 Horse Pooh.   This is due out on December 1st.   There are twelve Zodiac signs as referred to as Japanese ETO.  The Origin of ETO is Buddhism and Eto is composed of twelve kinds of animals.   One of the traditional expression of the Japanese Year.  It is used through the year.   A couple of years ago Disney started making Mbbp to represent these signs.   Last year was Year of the Snake and we saw the Mbbp release of Hebi Pooh.  The year before that was Year of the Dragon and the release of Mbbp Dragon Pooh.

Usa-ko Pooh

These were released on the 17th of November.   Yoko has sent me pictures and I wanted to share them with everyone.   Usa-ko Pooh has been released at Japan Disney Stores. Usa means rabbit shows the twelve zodiac signs and Ko means something lovely.  Usa-ko Pooh's body  is light rather than Little Star ones,  see in contrast Usa-ko Pooh next to Zodiac Pooh.   Pooh is holding a rabbit and sitting on Zabuton( Japanese cushion), 2 of cherry blossoms are put on his head. 

Also Usa-ko Bru Bru Pooh has released, when you pull the rabbit and Pooh begin to move and they close to each other.   Usa-ko Bru Bru Pooh and Usa-ko Pooh are sell for 1200 yen each and dangler is 680 yen.

In Australia Disney Stores the Winter White range for Christmas can be found.  To include the small
dwarfs, Mickey, Minnie & Pooh family (- Piglet).   Have also received the Australian Lt Stars and dragons.  Sagittarius Pooh
has still not appeared.

They also have the Pooh Angel in Stand up version or Tree Topper.    Dated balls with Pooh, Tinkerbell, Eeyore and
Mickey.  Princess Resin Figurine ornaments and the resin Pooh family with
moveable parts.

New Pooh series to start

"Travels with Pooh" series is due to start in the January 2002 Catalog. Pooh will be seen dressed in outfits representing individual states or places. This is not a Disney Store item.  I found this cute little Book and plush set at B. Dalton Book store.   Pooh is wearing a Santa Hat and in his traditional Pooh shirt.  He also has a cute little book attached to his back.   Pooh is about a 1" shorter than a normal Mbbp.  What a great gift set for a collector or child.

After Thanksgiving Release

This Pooh will be released very early Friday November 23, 2001.  The Day after Thanksgiving is usually the busiest shopping day of the year.  Many stores have promotions and sales to start out the Christmas season.  The Pooh will be given out by the Disney store and we have been told will be limited to 70 per Disney Store in the USA.

Fuzzy Eeyore Ornament

A little closer look at Eeyore 2001 Ornament.  He is made of very different material than the other two ornaments (pictured below) and he doesn't look like he is part of this set.  I was just at the DS and I can't remember if there was another Eeyore ornament but I was thinking that there was another.  If anyone knows please email me creations@lookoutcomputer.net

   Eeyore has a green velvet scarf around his neck.  He is carrying a red velvet sack with 2001 embroidered on it.  He is of the same type soft fuzzy material that we have seen in some of the Japan releases in the past.   I didn't see any other characters made out of the same material.  If anyone see any others please let me know!

Dumbo Mbbp

This new bean bag Dumbo has just arrived in USA Disney Stores.  Dumbo is a bit smaller than normal bean bag releases.  He is light blue made out of extremely soft fuzzy material.   His red collar is attached into place with thread.  His beans sit mostly in his feet.    He sells for $8.

Seven Dwarfs

Along the same style as we have seen many Plush and Mbbp this year, here we see the seven dwarfs in blue and white.  They are bigger in size than mbbp.  They are much more like the Lbbp we used to get from WDW.   They are also sporting a higher price than mbbp at $12 each.  Each Dwarf has varying colors.  Here you will notice that Dock has blue on with white accent. Bashful is the opposite of Doc.  These were two of my favorites.    I have the Christmas set from WDW and the Catalog Sleigh set and I have never noticed their faces as I did on this set.  Usually Dopey is my favorite but I have to say that his face left a bit to be desired. To me he looked a bit on the mean side :o)

Knotty Pooh & Eeyore

Knotty Pooh and Eeyore has started arriving at USA Disney Stores.  His is made of a tight knitted material much like corduroy fabric.   There are only beans in their bodies.  No beans to be found in their head or limbs (which is not unusual with Mbbp). Their limbs are fastened by a similar colored cording. Overall body size is much smaller than regular mbbp are. They retail for $7.00 each.

Looks like a new style of AVIATOR POOH has arrived in the UK. Specifically it was found in a London Disney Store. The new Pooh has a MAP rolled up in his right hand which is tied together with a red ribbon. His jacket now has two breast pockets, elasticized cuffs and waist, also on his shoulder  and his back we see the new logo 'Poohs 100 Acre Aces'. This version also has a new Helmet and Goggles.

Yoko tells us that a Mbbp version has also been released of this set but only at Tokyo Disney Resort Disney Store.   Winter Snow Mickey and Minnie mbbp sell for 1200 yen each.

Candy Pooh

Christmas Santa Pooh with Chocolates comes in a round tube container.  Inside we find Pooh is wearing a full Santa Suit (which includes his trousers) and his costume is fur trimmed at collar and cuff.  Under Pooh are chocolates wrapped in gold paper.  On the outside of the base we see a picture of Santa Pooh and Disney Store printed in gold lettering.

Knotty Pooh

Knotty Pooh has started arriving at USA Disney Stores today.  His is made of a tight corduroy fabric.   No beans in limbs, which are fastened by a thick, tightly woven cord.  Head is much smaller than usual and he has a stitched nose.  He retails for $7.00.

On our list of releases we are also expecting Knotty Eeyore to join Pooh.

Jumbo size Pooh Plush is sold at Japan Disney Stores every year in this season.
This year, it is Pooh which covered a Christmas costume.  The outfit is removable.
Yuki tells me that there are 3 kinds that will be released this year.

 *Christmas Costume Pooh (80 centimeter) retail is 15,000yen (LE 2001)
 *Winter White Pooh (80 centimeter) retail is 13,000yen (LE 1000)
*Winter White Mickey (110 centimeter) retail is 14,000yen (LE 500)

Minnie Series Sets

Two new series have started in the USA.

November Minnie was released in the last catalog.  She caused a lot of confusion as she was dressed differently than last years Birthstone November Minnie.    Now we find out that we will see another series of Birthstone Minnie.  This one is to be a bit different than the last set as she is to come with special necklaces and in different outfits.  The necklace can be taken off and worn.

The other series will be Minnie in different Princess outfits

Australian Disney Store in Adelaide, South Australia, has the following new stuff in stock. Little Star Strawberry fruit Pooh as well as all the Huggies. There is also a great Christmas item of a sled being pulled by Eeyore. Eeyore has a button on leg and when pushed his nose and lights on his reindeer horns light up. The sled is being driven by Tigger.

Brukko Santa Pooh and friends. (Piglet is hiding on the right side of Pooh) Bur means sound when you pull Eeyore they begin to vibe. Ko means lovely something.  They do not have batteries in them.  This item retails in Japan DS for 2000 yen.  Santa Pooh is a little smaller than plush pin.
