WDW Riverboat

Part of the Transportation series released at WDW sometime back, we finally get to see the picture of the large plush Riverboat!  It has "MARK TWAIN" on the back of the paddle wheeler.  In this boat you see Mickey, Donald and Goofy in overalls and wearing straw hats.  The beanies that come in the transportation series are smaller than regular size bean bags.  The Riverboat is about 13 inches long and about 11 inches high and retail cost on this set is $25.

Japan Releases

This list and date is a little bit different than the one I had posted on News yesterday. As mentioned yesterday we knew that these releases were coming but we were not certain on exact dates yet. Yoko sends more information and revised schedule dates. She tells me that Cast announced that date but is not definite and it can depend on the Store (Sounds very much like USA releases.. as not all stores get items at the same time).

Banana, Grape and Watermelon Pooh, have a formal schedule date of 6th of July, however Tokyo Disney Resort Disney Store MAY release them around 22nd of June. Japan Disney Store's schedule date is changed often and sometimes New Pooh items are available suddenly.

I have copied the email exactly as I received it from our wonderful contact in Japan Yoko and Natsu. Please use this as a guide and take into account that there maybe some variations in this schedule. I will post pictures and information as I get it.

June 22 - Grape Pooh,  Banana Pooh 

(Watermelon Pooh will be put off selling after 22 th of June)

June 30 -  Kiwi Pooh is exclusive item at Tokyo Disney Resort Disney Store 

July 19 -   Lion, Leo, Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore constellation series Little star 

July 27 - Elephant Pooh Little star 

August 3 -  Corn Pooh,  Little star Snail Pooh. Wink Pooh, Sleeping Pooh ( on the last two I am not sure if they are Little star or plush.)

August 10  - Virgo Pooh (Seal Pooh ) constellation series Little star 

September 7 - Cook (chief)  Pooh

September  14  - Libra Pooh, Harinezumi Pooh (Hedgehog)

In July we are to see Enriki Pooh which is guest design pooh and one of Little Star.  Other Guest Design Pooh's to be released.  Enriki means a diary with picture and is homework in Summer vacation for school.

Ekaki (Painter) Pooh on 5th October.

Yuki tells me this is the plan but it has not yet been formally announced so that means it could vary in release dates.  Will let you know more as I know more.     Guest Design Series will end in October with the release of Ekaki Pooh.

String Tigger arrives in Disneyland

Originally released in the UK back in Feb 2000, String Tigger has made his arrival to the USA market.  He can now be found in Disneyland.   For those of you who are not familiar with him.  He is normal MBBP size.  He has a string, which you can see attached to the card on the left, this goes into his neck.  When you hold the string and throw him downwards he makes a bouncing boing, boing sound.

Cuppy Dangle

 A little look back into Disney History

Cuppy Bean bag was originally released in the USA a couple of years ago.  From what I understand this little Rabbit did not make it to all Disney Stores and was very popular when it did arrive to the stores.   Soft and Cuddly he became as much a favorite to collectors as he was Hallie Parker from Parent Trap.  No longer available for purchase directly in USA Disney Stores those who missed out on this adorable Rabbit have had to try to trade for him or pay high auction prices.   At the same time the Movie was released Japan Disney Stores received the the Mbbp, Dangle and a Cuppy Teenie Beanbag.  The Dangle is 3.75"  and sold for 580 yen and the Teenie Beanie (sold on a DS card) is 3.25 inches and sold for 480 yen.  They were released a couple of years ago at the time of the Movie Promotion from all emails it looks like these items were released in 1999.  I don't recall any news on the dangles or teenie at that time just the Mbbp.  I do think that we get Japan news a lot more now than we did back in 1999 as Disney collecting started in the USA and has spread to Europe and Japan.

Japan Release Day

Cancer Pooh was released in Japan Disney Stores today.  He sells for 980yen.  

If you have missed any Zodiac Pooh mbbp that have been releases they are all pictured (USA and Japan) on this page Zodiac Poohs (only)

Also a surprise release today was Frog Pooh Mbbp and Dangle.   Frog Pooh is the same version that was released in Australia.  Now you are probably thinking ...we have already had a Frog Dangle.  From the information I receive this dangle is different in material.  More like Polar bear terry type cloth.

Plush Fruit Pooh

When going through ebay today I noticed these items on auction.  These are Plush items released in the same fruit line that we have been seeing in Mbbp.  Grape Costumes has removable with clips on under the legs.  Apple Costume is removable and has a zipper at the back.  The Pooh below has color shirt corresponding with the design and fruit emblem.  Pooh is approx. 6"

Mary Beth's Beanbag World   Monthly UK version, have published a valuation
guide for a selection of Disney Beanies.  Most of the information was gleaned
from the USA version of the magazine, but I am not sure who carried out the
dollar conversions and certainly, at this end, no Disney beanbag secondary
market traders were consulted regarding values.  What has, therefore, been
printed seems to bear no reality to real values and most collectors will be
disappointed with their collection if they relate it to this list.  However,
I do write the Disney Dayz article in the magazine and have consulted with
the editor and expressed my unease at the fact that a great number of
beanbags have been valued at less that their actual retail cost.  It may be
wise to advise those readers of the magazine who also look at your website
that a more accurate buyer's guide will be appearing in July (this has been
compiled by me - acting on my experience of the Disney beanbag market).

The tag says Indian Summer Mickey and Minnie.  Instead of the usual black bodies, they're done in a denim fabric.   The gloves, chaps, boots and Minnie's skirt are a simulated leather.  Mickey is wearing dark denim jeans.  They are plush and sell for $20. each.

Wood's smell Pooh

Tokyo Disneyland new LBBP, "Wood's smell Pooh".   He has bean in him.

The tag says he smells of  "wood" and can be used to remove a bad smell.

All emails sent in regards to the GTR have been posted.  If a page is not updated then there was no date change for that corresponding page.  

Negative Trading Information page has also been updated.   Once again if anyone is having problems with trades (Disney Mbbp must be involved) you may contact me at gtr@creationscelebrations.com    If a trade has been satisfactorily completed then no negative post will be made.  

I always do all I can do to try to bring the parties together to try to come up with a satisfactory solution, and in most cases, I am able to avoid posting a negative trade report. However, occasionally there are some that just don't respond, or are otherwise judged to be someone that traders should be warned against.  Those that don't respond, could be having computer troubles, be out of town, etc.  In MOST cases, upon successful completion of the trade deal the negative report will be removed. The successful conclusion or correction of a bad report is the ultimate goal.  Not to slander a traders name on the net.

Walt Disney 100 Years Magic

 

Walt Disney 100 Years Magic new dangle, Mickey, Dumbo, Bambi were released at Japan Disney Store. They sell for 880Yen each and they are available in special box printed a huge cast of Disney Characters.

 

Japan Disney Store also released Walt Disney 100 Years Magic cups.

 

Buru Buru Chip and Dale sells for 1280 Yen.

When you pull against Chip and Dale, they begin to move each other and they hug each.

Americana Series

 Pioneer Mickey and Minnie are the first in series of online/catalog exclusive bean bags being released in the USA.   Originally the street date was June 11th but I have been told that you can order them now.   If you are waiting to order them online they have not yet been added to Disney's site.   I suspect that they will probably show online sometime Monday.

Not only a new series but we will see a new twist on a new release.  Disney Auctioneers (on ebay) will auction the first tens sets signed starting June 18th http://www.disneyauctions.com

American Gothic -  (right) Mickey and Minnie look delightful in this unique beanbag set recreating Grant Wood's famous "American Gothic" painting. Mickey wears blue overalls with a blue coat and a pitchfork in his hand, and Minnie wears her plaid dress with a broach at the neck.  This set prototype creation date was August 8, 2000. This beanbag set never went into production

Frontier Pooh arrives

Looks like Frontier Pooh has arrived in some USA Disney Stores.  He will be available in the USA Catalog on June 11, 2001.  Pooh  is dressed in a buck-skin jacket showing the red shirt at the neck. But instead of his normal red shirt underneath, a red patch is sewn onto the jacket and coon-skin cap  This version will differ from the UK version as it won't have SMC on his foot.

Highlander Eeyore - You will see him wearing the same colors in the releases below.  He has dark brown fur round his neck he's wearing a kilt.

Highlander Tigger - Also wearing a kilt, he also has a belt round his waist which has a round buckle which has the letter "T" on it. His top is in a chain mail type of design which was previously seen on the St David's Pooh.

  As you can see this Pooh is different than the other Birthday Pooh Japan has received.   Looks a bit closer to the Birthday Pooh the UK received though not the same.   He will sell for 980yen.

Hikoboshi and Orihime Dolls

July 7th is tha day of the Star festival.
This romantic festival is based on a legend of two stars in live, Hikoboshi
and Orihime, they were allowed to meet just once a year , on July 7th.

Tokyo Disneyland released  Hikoboshi Mickey doll today.
They are 30 cm tall, sell for 2600 Yen each.
They hold Sasa ( Japanese branch ) with paper called Tanzaku to write their
wish on it .

Castmember AJ tells us that these new Disney items are coming in the USA.

Also, for those Nightmare Before Christmas fans: In August, stores will receive a new line of plush including Pumpkin Jack, Santa Claus, Oogie Boogie, and Evil Scientist. There will be Jack and Sally adult Halloween costumes in the larger stores as well. Halloween MBBP will be Pooh and Mickey.

Patient Eeyore & piglet 

Today was the release of Patient Eeyore & piglet in UK Disney Stores. Here you see Doctor Pooh, Surgeon Tigger pictured with the new releases which completed the set. 

 Piglet has on a hospital gown that does up at the back, he has a crutch under his arm, a
plaster (band aid) on his head to two bandages, one around his ankle and
the other around his wrist!! 

Eeyore has on a hospital gown done up the
wrong way around and on the back of it is drawn a heart and an arrow,
meaning that Eeyore's operation will be on his heart!

Holly has emailed that Milton Keynes
(in th UK) is giving away a free limited edition Baseball Pooh Mini
beanbag when spending over £30 at the store. The offer starts this weekend and is to celebrate the new look stores.

USA News

Japan, Disneyland and now Disney Stores in the USA are seeing the arrival of Bath Buddy Pooh and friends.  They have towel like material and no beans.   They are Mbbp size, come with turquoise tags and sell for $8 each.   Cindy reported that she found hers in the sections baby items and not the Mbbp section.
