NEW Releases in USA Disney Stores

There are five new bean bags that have shown up in USA Disney stores.  Teacher piglet, 4th of July Pluto, Gemini Pooh, Summer Fun Tigger (same as Japan release), and Cobalt Blue Mickey.

Pam writes he is brighter and prettier than the photo-----like sapphire gemstone. He is
velvety and kind of shiny. His buttons and eyes are pale blue and purplish blue
on the side of mouth smile threads. His pupils and mouth are navy blue.

What do you know about Blue tent Pooh?

If you have any information please let me know  E-mail me-mail me!!    I have been getting conflicting reports on this release. Originally Claudia of www.uk.bean.bags.freeuk.com reported Blue tents with camping pooh.  Now I have received several conflicting reports.   If anyone has more information let me know.

Spain.  I've also asked my pal that bought the blue ones if she definitely
bought them like that and didn't swap the tents around and that's how she

to get a blue tent Pooh."

Graduation Set

 Just received my beans and I have to say that this was the quickest shipment yet.  I ordered on Monday morning and they arrived to the West Coast on Thursday.   I was a bit surprised by several things on the Graduation beans.  First that all the boxes had the same picture on the front.  To figure out which character you had to read the tag on the back. 

The boxes are nice but I am not sure if they were worth the extra $4. dollars.   They are made of thin cardboard and the top flap of the box has Velcro on it.   The box is not to big.  Tigger is really stuffed in it and I would say he was bigger/taller than the box. 

   The degree the characters are holding is attachable.  I thought that this was great.   There is Velcro on both ends on the degree and their paws.  You can play with how they hold the degree of take it totally off.   The degree is of felt type material and it looks to be machine embroidered.  All in all I do think that these are the best graduation ones we have seen yet.  In size, quality and design.

Sunflower Pooh 

This is a new version of Sunflower Pooh.  Last year (pictured below) we saw Sunflower Pooh released in the USA and then multiple colored Sunflower/Flower Poohs released in Japan.   The version this year is a little bit different.  He is wearing a body suit in green and smaller pedals that frame his face.    He resembles little star Pooh bears more in design than the regular type of pooh that was released last year.   Sunflower Pooh has started to arrive in Japan Disney Stores.  Not all stores have received him yet.

 GRADUATE MICKEY  has also just been released from Disneyland. Mickey is ready for graduation in his cap and gown. His blue velvet cap has DISNEYLAND on it and his right hand is holding a diploma.  He has 2001 stitched on his bottom left foot.

Disneyland looks like they have just gotten a big shipment of bean bags in stock right now.  Other bean bags that can be found there right now are little Stars Lamb, Frog, Leopard, Rabbit, Cow, Zebra Pooh.

Teacher Candy Pooh

At first look a lot of collector's did not like the look of this new Pooh.  When we looked a bit closer to Pooh we noticed that he was really not to different than the other Candy Pooh's done in the past.   The biggest difference is that his head, feet and hands were not enclosed in an outfit as we have seen in these other Pooh's.

Stephen wrote this in depth look at pooh and I thought it was worth reading

 Pooh in Overalls w/Candy (hang tag name) has a few
surprises.  He holds a soft red apple (not totally
flat, but not a round apple...more like a Val's heart?)
on which the "For Teacher" silky strip of ribbon is sewn.

Overalls and red top are stitched together; the braces
cross in back, and the front buttons are felt (as Ragdoll's
eyes) with black cross-stitches. 

The feet for the other
plush's w/candy have always been covered by suits
...here we finally get to see these HUGE flattened
feet, in a large footpad style, but the heel is stitched
directly to the trousers (and stitched completely around).

Other surprises, in addition to those feet are a collar on
the shirt, the short sleeves are banded, the overalls are
a nice denim material...medium blue...the neat pocket
on front is a true pocket (!) and the "Pooh" is stitched in
SILVER (nice touches)...but the biggest surprise is a red
patch just below his right buttock with "Pooh" stitched
neatly in GOLD thread!!! 

Finally, his head is rather flat, and as previous w/candy plush's, the stuffing is placed for a very rounded visage...total absence of jowls, chin, and cheeks. On average, the eyes are spread more than usual (sewn)...the ones I saw (only 12 arrived) had horribly lop-sided eyes (a consistent problem with the candy plush's), and the one I grabbed for myself has quite a span between
the eyes. Noses are sewn very well. No TTT...name is only on hang tag.

Japan Free Bean Promotion

The Disney Stores which are Kyusyu island in Japan will start new campaign from April 1st to 9th of April.  When the guest purchases items at the store 20000 Yen or over 20000Yen, the store will give him Pooh bean which has never sold in Japan until now.   When the guest purchases items 40000 Yen or over 40000Yen, he is given Mickey plush."

Yoko tells me that there are 8 Disney Stores in Kyusyu.  Disney stores which are in Kyusyu Island will continue new campaign till September.  It turns out that there will be two free Pooh that guests will get with a purchase over 20000Yen.  First one is called Japan Prisoner and it is very similar to the one released in the USA.   He wears striped shirt with black and white and has ball and chain.  The second Pooh will be Japan Pilot Pooh.  He wears a brown jacket instead of having something on his back he has Pooh embroidered on his sleeve.

Joyce talked with Best Guest CM and she was told that two of the Feng Shui Pooh's family and Creativity will be in the April catalog for sure.  They are saying there is a total of eight to be released in the months coming.

Joyce also found out that we will see a Graduation Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore.  They will come in a gift box.

New Graduation Pooh

 There are two versions of Graduation Pooh this year.   The first version we saw was the one released in USA Disney Stores. (pictured left).   Then recently we have seen a second version released at Disneyland.  The version are very similar but not exactly the same.  The Disneyland one has Disneyland written on his cap in blue and the 2001 on his foot is in gold. Also, he doesn't have patches on his robe as the Disney Store version does.

White Easter Pooh Released Today

Today we saw Easter Pooh released in the UK and he retailed at £6.99.

Next week's release will be Easter Pooh in reversible Easter egg.   This is Pooh sitting inside a padded Chocolate Easter Egg.  The lining inside the egg is yellow satin.  There is a big yellow satin bow on the front of the egg.  He will retail at £7.99.

Minnie Girl Mbbp

New from WDW Minnie Girl bean bag.  Minnie measures at approximately 10 1/2 inches tall which is about the same size as the sports bean that were released sometime back from WDW.   Even though these are usually bigger than our normal mbbp they are being called that, mbbp.   Sometime back WDW discontinued making Lbbp as it was not as popular.  So now they call them mbbp and usually charge $10. the design.  Which is more than a normal USA Mbbp price and less than the $12. normal USA Lbbp price.  

 Last week I reported on Daisy.  Now it looks like these two are dressed in similar attire and ready to hit the town!

Pooh Easter Mini Bean Bag Musical Maypole 

USA - This musical Maypole set is available in USA Disney Catalog.  In the pictures I was not really sure about them even though I have a fondness for smaller bean items.   When I got them I was really impressed with how well they were made.   I was really tempted to cut them off the pole and put them in with my other beans.

Each miniature mini bean bag is attached to the top of the pole with colored ribbon and to the base with Velcro.   

The Maypole beans are real close in size to the Chocolate Pooh mbbp.  I took pictures of them to show you below.  The face and body size is about the same the only real difference is the feet given to pooh in the Maypole set.   Tigger matches the Butterfly Mbbp version exactly.

Best Guest litho

I found out that the Best Guest gift with purchase has changed from the Majestic Mickey and Minnie bean bag set to this 50th Anniversary Alice in Wonderland Litho.

Top left is the front of the envelope that the litho comes in.  Top right is the litho which is approx the size of a piece of paper (8 1/2 x 1).  The litho has a nice cover letter that you can see through (pictured below).  I have typed what is says here for you to read.

In celebrations of Alice in Wonderland's 50th anniversary the Guest Guest team has commissioned this exclusive lithograph recreating a fan card originally designed to accompany the 1951 release of this Walt Disney classic animated feature film.

Once a popular pastime in the 1930's, fan card were collected by Disney guests who sent fan mail to the Disney studios.  Fan cards are still produced for all animated features and most live action films with the animated character cards being the most prized.  The tradition of fan card collecting continues today.

Limited to just 1,951 editions, this beautiful piece of Disney history is faithfully reproduced from pristine original artwork preserved in the Walk Disney Studio archives.  Within this lithograph you'll find all of the unique characters that made this film so special.

Prototype Beanbags

There are quite a few prototype bean bags Disney has put on auction.  I thought I would take the time to picture them here today.  Now most of us will never own these since there are so few of them and prices range a bit high ... but they are still fun to look at :o)

Disney Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore Spring Flower Prototype Beanbag

These are some of our favorite characters from the 100 Acre Wood.  They were created in July 1999  to celebrate spring.  These Disney Catalog  prototype are 8" tall.  So far these particular styles never went into mass production.  Even though we have seen some type of Flower characters in the regular market. 

  1980s Mickey Mouse -  (left) Mickey is ready to "party" in this delightful 1980s Mickey prototype beanbag from the Disney Store. Mickey has a red headband, red T-shirt, black patent leather tie, a white coat and pants, and black patent leather shoes.  Disney states that if this design is ever made it will be slightly different.  So that sounds to me like we will see a similar Mickey in the future.

   American Gothic -  (right) Mickey and Minnie look delightful in this unique beanbag set recreating Grant Wood's famous "American Gothic" painting. Mickey wears blue overalls with a blue coat and a pitchfork in his hand, and Minnie wears her plaid dress with a broach at the neck.  This set prototype creation date was August 8, 2000. This beanbag set never went into production

Can Can Minnie Mouse - (left) Minnie is ready to do the Can Can in this delightful prototype beanbag from the Disney Store. Minnie has a red and blue dress with gold trim, black and red stockings, red shoes, and a fabric flower with red and blue felt "feathers." This wonderful 8" bean bags has creation date of April 7, 1999

 Saloon Player Donald - (right) Saloon Player Donald is ready to pound out a tune on "the old ivorys" in this delightful prototype beanbag from the Disney Store. Donald has a black hat, white shirt with black suspenders and sleeve garters, and black pin stripe pants with spats.  Saloon Player Donald that was mass-produced was different than this particular prototype.

Easter Basket - (left) Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are ready for the Easter Parade inside this Easter basket prototype beanbag set. The three 8" beanbags come side a fabric Easter basket, making them ready to add to your holiday decor. All three are dressed as Easter eggs, and are still sewn into the fabric basket.  This set never went into production

Pooh Fruit Bowl - (right) Pooh is dressed as an apple, Piglet as a strawberry, Eeyore as a bunch of grapes, and Tigger as a banana.  This set never went into production

 Springtime Pooh Prototype Plush 

Springtime Pooh wears a blue garden apron over his red sweater and he has an adorable hat with a flower on it. This wonderful 12" plush prototype has a bouquet of flowers in his hands and arrives gift wrapped in a spring-themed box with a gold flower sewn onto the matching bow. If a Springtime Pooh plush is ever produced, it will be different than this particular prototype.

USA News - Cindy tells us she saw a new plush Mickey and Minnie in USA Disney Stores.  The name on the tag was Faux mohair Mickey/ Minnie Plush.  The material used for this plush is similar to the material we saw on Simply pooh set.

Sun & Star Beans

Yuki sent me picture of these "Sun and Star" Marshmallow Pooh & Friends Set available in Japan.   Sun & Star is another maker of Disney beans and they are also very collectible.  They don't sell directly in the Disney Store as most beans that I report on.  These are purchased from resellers like Toys R US.   I have a couple sets of Sun & Star beans and they are some of my favorites.   They are well made and have some great textures and designs to them.

Little Star "Fruit Pooh" series coming

Japan Disney Store will start a New Little Star series called "Fruit Pooh"   We will see Pear Pooh, Strawberry Pooh, Melon Pooh, Watermelon Pooh, Banana Pooh and Grape Pooh.  We are not sure which ones will be released at which date but they are to start this series April 23, 2001.

Flower Power Daisy

April has informed me that WDW has received Flower Power Mickey, Minnie and Daisy.   Daisy is a new bean bag and she looks like she is straight out of the 60's, even has lime green platform sandals on!

Boat Ride now at TDL

Pooh in Honey Boat with friends, Piglet, Tigger and a Woozle has just been released in Japan.  
These are bean bags but they are a little smaller than regular onee.   Exclusive to TDL.  2400 Yen. This is the same set we saw released at WDW in the beg. of February.

New Plush from Japan

I am waiting to get more information on these items shown from Japan.  I find it interesting that the bottom pictures look just like the baby items available from WDW.

USA Catalog order date is 19th

USA Disney online catalog is showing all of the new items.  There was a brief time that they were available online.  At the time I posted this report they were not available.  My recommendation is to check back with them until you find them available again.  I suspect it will be on Monday the 19th as that is street date for the catalog.

Dragonfly's Set completed

New Keychains Release in UK

Just released in the UK for Easter Mini Blue Bunny Keychain.  

Not full suit but very similar to the Mbbp Blue bunny pooh released  in the  USA 1999 (pictured at left).   As many of you know these adorable keychains 3" have beans and have been very popular among collectors

 

 

Also released, Pooh with flowers keychain.  Once again we see a keychain released that is similar to the Mbbp,  Mother's Day Pooh.

Japan Little Stars

 Easter Bunny Poohs in Little Star designs are now available in pink, blue and white.  Just as we had previously seen they match the dangles that were released in their shimmery fabric awhile back.   

Another Little Star for Easter is this cute Chick Pooh pictured with his matching Dangle.  The Dangle design has been released previously and there seems to be no difference.  Little Stars sell for 980 in Japan.

Next USA Catalog

Joyce emails that she talked with Best Guest CM and they told her two feng shui Pooh beanies will be in the next Catalog.  The eight total bean bags are Happiness, Career, Recognition, Prosperity, Creativity, Health, Family and Relationship.

What we don't know yet is if they will re-release all 8 in the USA or if we will just see the next 4.  If anybody knows please E-mail me

Dragonfly Eeyore and Piglet

Dragonfly Eeyore and Piglet are due out Tuesday 13th February in the UK and they are said to be Exclusives.  I love the sparkle at the tips of the wings.  If you click on the picture you will be able to see them in great detail!

Little Stars arrive in Australia

Australia update - Jen of www.jaydeetoys.com has emailed us with this information about Little Stars that have been released Australia. We now have Pooh as a Dalmatian, Pineapple Pooh and Pooh as a Pink Leopard (no sign of the blue one). The pink one does not have a  feather around its neck, but other than that, I think it is the same.

Easter goodies

Another cute treasure for the Easter Holidays.  Mini Easter Globe with Eeyore hanging onto a Easter basket. 

To the right we see 1999 Easter Pooh, 2001 Easter Pooh from Chocolate Egg and UK Mini Easter Pooh.  As you can tell by the picture this years Easter Pooh (in middle) is slightly bigger than other mini chocolate pooh holiday releases.

I also found these adorable Easter Baskets in USA Disney Stores.  They have our favorite characters adorned in Easter Ears and hanging onto the handle awaiting the Easter Bunny.  They are the same size as bean bags but they do not have beans in them.    Now that would be adorable to see a bean bag Easter Tigger and Eeyore as pictured with BEANS!

Closer look at Engineer Mickey

  I just got my Engineer Mickey and I was quite surprised by the size of him.  He was priced at $10 and I have gotten a few of the larger items from WDW but none quite as large in size.  As you can see him standing next to Mardi Gras Mickey, there is quite a difference.
