Disneyana Mickey Bean 2002

The Disneyana convention was held late in August.  Pictured here is the official logo beanie of the Disneyana 2002 Convention,  InspectEar Sleuth Mickey Mouse. 

Prior year bean bag releases for Disneyana convention starting with 1999 Safari release, 2000 Small World Gondolier Mickey, and then 2001 Family Reunion Mickey.

Disneyana Sets

Disneyana Set Aristocats Disneyana Conventioneers. Its dated Sept. 7th-11th, 1999. Cats come stored in the piano.   Each item is tagged ....English cat (playing guitar wearing sunglasses). Chinese cat (playing and sitting at piano). Italian cat (playing hand organ). Russian cat (playing base). Scat cat (playing his horn).

A Disney Family Reunion, here we see Donald Duck and nephews Huey, Dewey and Louis riding together in a plush car on their way to the reunion.   All characters are set in place in the car by velcro and can be moved around at will.

Disneyana Bobble Head Mickey

Well Bobble figures have really made a splash this year.  So it didn't surprise me to find out that Disneyana will release this Detective Mickey Bobble.  He is depicted in full detective gear, magnifying glass and all in honor of this year's convention theme, the Official Disneyana Mystery.  He is only available to registered ConventionEars.  Release amount will only be 500

Christmas items

The Christmas store in Disneyland quite a few items, some new and some just great favorites of collectors.  Of the things there I saw there were Christmas Houses, Plates, Mugs, Frames and Ornaments in plush, glass and resin.   Some of these items may be new but I do not know for sure.  I do know that I didn't see them at WDW last year when I was there (except for the snowflake Pooh and Tigger ornaments)

Of the things I could not pass up purchasing were Tinkerbell Tree Topper shown below.  She stands 11" high and at top of her wing spread 5" across.  She feels like resin in the body. Her wings feel like plastic.  She retailed for $35.

Picture below is Christmas Frame with Pooh, piglet and eeyore in a resin type material.  Also pictured is snowflake ornaments of Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger.  These are resin type material.  Approx. 4.5 x 4.5 inches and retail for $10.  (I didn't see piglet but if anyone has seen him please let me know)

Halloween Pooh & Tigger Beans

Pooh and Tigger are dressed in witch outfits with light up pumpkins.  When you press their left paw, the many pumpkins on their shirt blinks alternately.  The battery is replaceable.

Linda emails that she has just purchased Tribal Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto.  She got them at Once Upon A Toy at Walt Disney World.   The Theme Park exclusive hang tags read Tribal Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto but the receipt shows Adventureland Mickey, Minnie, etc.  The retail price is $8.00 each and they are mbbp.

Framed watch sets

On Mainstreet USA, Disneyland there is a watch shop that does specialty painted watches.  You can watch the artist as he works.   You can pick from many pictures and he will hand paint your watch.  Here are two examples of framed print/watch sets.

Larger Clock sets

 Pictured here are some larger clock sets that were available from Disneyland.  There were quite a few to choose from.  I took some pictures of them to show everyone.  Missed getting the Walt and Mickey clock.  It was larger like the first Pooh and Piglet clock shown.  The next set of clocks show quite a bit of detail.  If I remember correctly they were resin in feel.  Sorry I should have jotted more information on them.  But at least you get to see them.

Pictured here is Prince Mickey (pictured in direct middle).  I don't recall seeing him in bean bag news before so I thought I would show him.   He was found among princess's Cinderella Minnie and Aurora Minnie.

Jumper Set

 Due out August 27, 2002 in UK Disney Stores is Jumper Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore. 

New Fab 5 mbbp set available in Frontierland Disneyland.  This set has really good detail.  Everyone is wearing their moccasins and buckskins all complete with their Daniel Boone hat!  Donald is the only one missing a pair of moccasins.  Minnie is carrying a basket of food.   If you look closely at Minnie's dress you will notice Mickey ears in the trim.  The other characters also have mickey emblems here and there.  My favorite out of the set was Donald and Pluto.  I thought Pluto looked very much like a horse as he was packing supplies! 

This set was also found at Frontierland in Disney.  Chip is carrying a acorn and Dale is sporting a set of flowers.

Disney bear Gray, Disney Bear Cream and Disney Bear Brown.  These are brand new very soft plush bears with beans in them.  They all have a Mickey outline in their face.  There are actually four Mickey faces that can be found these bears.  The face, two on his feet and one on his butt.  This bear also has an adorable story which is enclosed and part of his tag/book.  

One night before the park opened, Mickey was sitting by the castle. The rest of his friends had not arrived yet, so Mickey brought along his favorite teddy bear to keep him company.   Mickey was so excited to be in such a magical place that he wished he had somebody to explore the park with.  Suddenly, Tinker Bell flew down out of the starry sky and saw Mickey sitting there with his stuffed friend.  She had heard Mickey's wish and sprinkled the bear with Pixie Dust.  The Pixie Dust filled the bear and he miraculously came to life!  Mickey was so excited and happy, that he gave his bear a hug.  As soon as Mickey hugged the bear a magical Mickey head shaped impression appeared on the bear's face, forever bonding him with Mickey.  From that moment on, Mickey had a very special friend to share all his magical memories.   

The cream and brown bear are stand up bears.  Where the gray bear is a lay down bear.  They are priced at $22. each.

Infant Mickey and Minnie 9" bean bags.  I don't remember seeing these before so I am assuming that they are new.  They are made out of very soft terry cloth type material.  They have beans in their body and feet.  Their tags have to and from on the inside. They retail for $11. 

Infant Mickey and Minnie designs follow into a number of baby clothes and items available in Disneyland stores.

Japan Disney Store released Disney character calendar 2003 pins.
It is available in wooden frame and limited Edition of 1000.

As most of you know the Ranger line isn't new.   What I found interesting is that there were so many sizes to be found in this line.  You will notice beans in the middle with varying sizes surrounding them.  

There were many resin and plastic type frames to be found at Disneyland.   This was one of the nicest ones I found.   It is Pooh, Piglet and Tigger made out of resin.  You have a frame on either side of the characters.  Pooh reminded of the same type of Simply figures that have been coming out in the UK.  He had that type of look to his finish.  Retails for $18.00

   (Sorry the picture is a bit blurry.  I had a setting off on my camera.  These items may or may not been new.  I have never picture any of them before.  I figured that some of you might like to see them).  

To be released in UK Disney Stores August 20, 2002 ~ This sleepy Pooh can’t keep his eyes open and has fallen asleep on the shimmering moon! Pooh is dressed in a blue nightshirt and matching nightcap and is sure to have sweet dreams as long as he doesn’t fall off!

Night before Christmas mbbp

USA Disney stores are starting to receive new mbbp for the Night before Christmas. Pictured here is Pumpkin Jack.   We hear that there will be others to include Evil Scientist, Oogie Boogie, Clown, and Monster.

Looks like UK Disney stores will be getting Spring Series Pooh Mini Bean Bags that the USA has already seen.  They were called in the USA called Butter Pooh, Butter Piglet, Lagoon Tigger and Crocus Eeyore.  In UK Disney stores they are to be released August 11, 2002

Little Gem Teddy Bears has just released a Pooh line of their mini items.   Each limited-edition teddy bear stands on a heart-shaped wood base. Each item features a hangtag signed by artist and designer Jamie Wu.   Here we see Pooh who wears his signature shirt, Tiggerwith a suede hat, traditional Pigletand Eeyore who has a pink bow on his tail!  They retail at $89. each and also come with an Acrylic display case.  They are made out of Ultrasuede and Rayon/cotton clothing.  Individually Numbered Limited Edition of 500 each.

Travels with Pooh Miami, Mickey & Minnie Americana from the 90's, Letterman Mickey & Minnie 2003,  Aurora Minnie (already released in Disney stores),  Camping Eeyore (released originally in UK Disney Stores).  

The newest catalog is due out August 12, 2002.   It isn't uncommon to see items online a couple of days before the actual street date.  Hopefully this will happen since there is free shipping for those of us who will spend over a $100.  In this new catalog I personally think it will be easy to meet free shipping as there are also a lot of great Halloween items to behold!

Halloween Disney Boyd's Plush

New for Halloween this year is Disney Boyd's Plush/bean Pooh as Candy Corn, Eeyore in pumpkin, Piglet as a witch and Scarecrow Tigger.  These retail for $30. each.  This is the first time I have seen any Boyd's Disney items released for anything but Christmas.  Normally they plush is packaged with the  Resin.  This time they have separated them.   The Resin items sell for $16. each

Halloween wind up plush

Back to School

Fairy Eeyore

Fairy Eeyore mbbp has been released in USA Disney stores.  This is the second release in the fairy series with Pooh being the first.   Eeyore has a purple shirt and blue fairy wings and retails for $8.50.

Chef Items

"Chef Mickey, Minnie & Pluto  pin" were only released at Tokyo Disney
Resort Ambassador hotel in the beginning of July.  Also released was Chef Mickey Plush and you will notice that is also wearing a pin lanyard.

Pooh and Tigger Romper have been released in UK Disney stores today, August 6, 2002

Pooh is a very well dressed baby in this brightly coloured romper. You’ll be sure not to lose him, dressed in an orange and red stripy baby romper with matching hat. The hat even has little holes in for his ears to stick out of!

Tigger wants to be just like his friend Pooh is his baby romper. Tigger’s outfit has blue stripes, as does his matching hat, and there’s even a hole in the romper for his tail to stick out so that he can still bounce!

August Birthstone Pooh, Peridot,  was released on 3rd of August in Japan Disney stores.  His dress is made of cotton to coincide with the fact that it is very hot in Japan during August. Bean bags sells for 1200 yen and dangles is 680 yen.

Susan writes to tell us that Christmas Noel Soirée Minnie was released together with Mickey at DLP in July.  We didn't know this or have a picture until now.   Minnie is dressed in a bright white and silver sparkling dress with a white feather boa, her official release name is “Soirée Minnie”  (Mickey is named “Soirée Mickey) and her mouse-head shaped tag says “Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel”.

Ice Cream Plush

 New Ice Cream Pooh and Eeyore Plush have started to arrive at USA Disney Stores.  They stand 14" tall and are made of very soft material. Eeyore has a multicolor effect.  Very nice look.

Just arrived in USA Disney Stores is this new Mini Globe.  The actual water snowglobe part is the same size as UK Mini Globes.  In the picture below you will notice the Mickey globe is taller than the UK globe and much bigger than the USA mini globe.  This globe base is approx. 2" and is adorned with dancing brooms.  Inside the globe you see Sorcerer Mickey.   Adorned at the top is a Mickey Sorcerer hat with Mickey ears!  Retails for $15. 

Hip Hat Minnie is a new bean bag that has arrived at USA Disney Stores.  Minnie is dressed in a cute purple sun dress with platform sandals. She carries a furry purse and wears a purple hat with flowers.  Minnie retails for 8.50

September Birthstone Necklace Minnie has arrived in USA Disney Stores.  She is adorned with pencils, books and apples.  All ready for school.  Minnie retails for $9.00

USA Disney stores are starting to receive mbbp Friendship Day Pooh and Tigger.   It appears to be the same design that is to be released in Japan Disney Stores on August Retail price is $17.00.

Releases shipping

Here is an update of mbbp releases for Disneyland Paris.   Those who pre-ordered should be receiving their sets soon.   Retail price for each mentioned bean bag : 9.90 EUROS.  

Rainy Day Mickey and Minnie are dressed in slickers.  Minnie is dressed in pink dress with Blue and pink slicker.   Mickey is dressed in a black t-shirt with jeans and a yellow slicker.  As you can see in the picture Minnie is carrying a yellow umbrella.  On the back of their jackets is the Disneyland Paris logo and park scene.  These come with normal square blue and yellow Disneyland Paris tag and retail for 9.90 Euros.

Mickey smart is dressed in Blue satin pans, black satin shoes.  He has a jacket of silver sparkle material.  Under his jacket his white shirt and vest (vest is of satin type material).  A satin blue tie brings the outfit together.   I thought it was interesting that Mickey smart looks like a perfect match for Baton Twirling Minnie which was originally released sometime back from WDW.  Mickey sports Joyeux Noel, Disneyland Paris, Merry Christmas Mickey head shaped tags.

Vintage Pooh

Limited Edition Exclusive - Release Date: July 30, 2002
We’re really going back to our roots with Vintage Pooh, as he is made from traditional teddy bear fabric. Pooh is wearing a maroon dressing gown with matching slippers, with a checked nightshirt underneath - colours that match the current Disney Store adult range of nightwear.

This week, Japan Disney Store released more Animal Pooh series items.
They are Penguin Pooh, Bunny pooh,  Panda pooh and leopard pooh.
They are same size as Japan little stars and they sell for 1000 yen each.
Danglers are 680yen each.
They have much beans inside and colorful long straps to hang on the shoulder
or neck. The strap can be take off and take on, so you can set them on your favorite
place also.  Each one has a different symbol embroidered their soles.

Halloween Releases

Mickey as Captain Hook - Mickey is wearing a red coat and captain's hat and has a hook as one hand. He will have a long beard and patch over one eye. We weren't able to tell if he will have a pegged leg.

Minnie as Cruella Deville - Minnie is wearing a long black dress and has the typical Cruella black and white hair. She will have a long fur coat on, but it was undetermined if will be a spotted coat or not.

Pooh as a Purple Bat - Pooh is very similar to the Eeyore release coming out in the United Kingdom. Although Pooh's wings will be purple in color along with his pointy bat ears.

Eeyore as a Black Cat - Eeyore is also very similar to the Pooh release coming out in the United Kingdom.  Although Eeyore will have glasses that have cat eyes in them on.

Best Guest Litho

When we're human again, only human again, when we're knicknacks and whatnats no more..."

Pictured first is the outside envelope, which contains the Best Guest Litho from Beauty and the Beast,  (the second picture which is of the litho) shows Mrs. Potts and Cogsworth.

Best Guests who purchase $150.  between July 8, 2002 and August 11,  2002 with the Disney catalog will receive this limited edition masterpiece.  Limited to 2000 editions.

The Big Bean bring us pictures of some new Halloween Bean Bags coming soon.  First pictures is Light Up Pooh which is said to retail at £7.99.  Then we see Halloween Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore.  On the release list from the UK they didn't specifically give them names but as you can see Pooh is dressed as Witch (cat), Halloween Eeyore as Vampire Bat, Halloween Tigger as Werewolf.  They are said to retail for £6.99

Disneyland celebrates its 47th birthday today July 17, 2002

Quote from Sharon Baird, a Mouseketeer who was in Walt's apartment with him on Opening Day.

"I was standing next to him at the window, watching the guests come through the gates. When I looked up at him, he had his hands behind his back, a grin from ear to ear, and I could see a lump in his throat and a tear streaming down his cheek. He had realized his dream."

Marc tells us that Fairy Pooh has just started to turn up in US Disney Stores.  Pooh is wearing a very shiny soft material shirt the "POOH" imprinted on the front. He has shiny green wings on his back as he lays on his stomach. He is retailing for $8.50.

Rockin' Roller Coaster is a wonderful thrill ride Costarring Aerosmith.  Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opened to guests on August 1, 1999, as part of the largest property-wide expansion in Walt Disney World history. The indoor roller coaster features a high-speed launch of 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, three inversions, rock-concert lighting and a specially created Aerosmith soundtrack blasting from 120 onboard speakers in each coaster train -- all firsts for a Walt Disney World attraction.   As you can see here Mickey has his back stage pass and is ready to rock!

Hallmark Disney Ornament premier

This Saturday at your local Hallmark store it will premier its ornament line.  Included in this premier will be a collection of Hallmark Disney Ornaments.  Ornaments won't be available online for purchase until mid-July.

McDonald's and Disney have just started 'The Country Bears' Happy meals toys.  These toys will be available July 12 through August 1, 2002.   You can collect 8 Country bears!    The Country Bears Movie will be in Theatres starting July 6th.

Marie Osmond will be on hand to sign her DISNEYLAND(R) exclusive Adora Belle doll, which depicts the costume of the “it’s a small world” Gondolier Hostess. Adora Belle comes dressed in a smart looking red jacket, with a red & white striped shirt, blue pleated skirt, white socks and a straw hat. Personally sculpted by Marie, Adora Belle comes complete with a miniature pin trading lanyard and mini pins which are permanently affixed to it as well as two tradable pins, one of which is the “it’s a small world” logo pin.

Adora Belle is limited to an edition size of 1000 and will be offered for $120, plus tax.
Dolls will be available to purchase beginning at park opening in Star Trader in Tomorrowland.

 Sega Disney Plush shown here include Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy in sailor outfits.  They are new items released this year 2002.   They are not available for sale but must be won out a machine. Available in Japan.

Japan Disney Store released July Ruby Pooh from the Birthstone series today.  Pooh's costume was designed to image sailor dress.  Pooh retails for 1200 yen and dangler for 680 yen

Fruit Pooh danglers,  they were released from Nakajima corporation which
produces Disney items in Japan .
Their items are under official Disney license.

They is Pineapple Pooh,  Banana Pooh, Watermelon Pooh, Grape Pooh and Pooh
in  the branch.  they are 580 yen each.

Pooh holding  pig dangler and  Pooh holding  sheep are 680 yen.
