Released today in UK Disney Stores Easter Basket Pooh which is a Zip-up item and Mother's Day Pooh.

The Boat Race is a great British tradition, just as releasing Mini Bean Bags to commemorate special events is a Disney Store tradition. To celebrate this years race Disney Store are releasing Boat Race Pooh, featuring Pooh and Piglet in a boat as they attempt to win the race. The embroidery on the oar says 'Pooh Boat Race 2002'

Another Easter Mini Bean Bag release for Disney Store is this very cute Pooh, dressed as a chick, with another tiny chick for company! The little baby chick is attached to Pooh, and if you pull the cord between the two of them, they slowly come together again, like the best of friends. This is the first time Disney Store has released a Mini Bean Bag with moving parts so it is sure to be a great Collectors item.

Japan Disney Store released Easter Pooh and Carnival Pooh and his friends
bean bags on 23 February. However these are same as bean bags released at US Disney Stores in USA. They sell for 980 yen each.
They have gold tags show they come form USA.

Pictured here are bean bags released in Disneyland Paris to celebrate the opening of Walt Disney Studios which will open to the public on March 16, 2002. Starting at top left we see Director Donald, Cameraman Goofy, Disney Studios Paris Mickey in Bag and at bottom front Script Writer Mickey.

Next in the Birthstone series will be Aquamarine Pooh which is due for release on the 2nd of March in Japan Disney stores. It is 1200 yen and the dangle is 680 yen.

Here are the pictures of watch called " Time with Pooh and his friends" available from
Tokyo Disneyland . They sell for 2900 yen each.

Pictured here is the new Golf Pooh, Golf Tigger, Chef Pooh and Waiter Tigger. If you are in the park you can get these items immediately. For those of us who have to mail order they are shipping Tigger immediately but they have said that the Poohs will not ship until June.

Disneyland Paris accepts requests for orders on bean bags and will send them just about anywhere in the world. There are many releases currently available from the park. These new mbbp listed below will be coming to the park soon.

Licensed Disney items

These two Pooh items are not sold in Disney Stores but at Licensed Disney locations. For those of us that collect dangles these would be great additions to our collections! The first Pooh pictured is a bean doll that is 3.25" and has a very sad little expression on his face. Peachy beige color with a tangerine colored sewn in shirt.

The second picture to the right is a Pooh doll dressed in a purple and pink cat outfit. He has a chain attached to his head to qualify as a dangle and his height is just under 3.5" and he is stuffed with fluff, not beans.

What is interesting is that Little Stars Pink and Blue Leopards that have just arrived in Japan Disney Stores closely resembles the dangle Pooh above which is not sold in official Disney stores.

The dangle items have not been pictured here before...nor have I seen them before. The sender of the pictures did not know if they were brand new or if they had been released for awhile. If anyone has any information to add please feel free to e-mail me creations@lookoutcomputer.net

Easter items

Valentine's Day is over and it is on to the next major Holiday. Today many Easter items could be found on the shelves of USA Disney Stores. Many new beans bags and plush pictured at beginning of the month are now available.

One little surprise I found today was the mini pooh pictured below. He came in the Easter Hunt kit that includes plastic Easter eggs, stickers, Easter grass and mini wood signs. I almost missed him. When I found him I took him out and gave him a good squeeze. To my surprise he had BEANS!

When I got home I put him next to my Japan magnets, USA Pooh that came in the Chocolate egg and then some of the UK Chocolate Poohs and keyclips. I found that Pooh resembled the keyclips from the UK most closely. His face structure and body size are almost identical. Even though their suit colors look similar there are many design differences to their outfits.

Tanpopo Pooh

Yoko writes "Tanpopo Pooh, Buru Buru Tanpopo Pooh and its dangle were released at Japan Disney Stores on the 12th of February. They are the second release of Japanese Pooh next to Usakko Pooh released last year. Tanpopo Pooh and Buru Buru Tanpopo Pooh sell for 1200 yen each and its dangle is 680 yen. Tanpopo Pooh looks much bigger than Buru Buru Tanpopo Pooh as he sits on the cushion of white down."

Football Mania!

UK Disney's Official site reports that we will see Football Tigger and Pooh mbbp this summer. Football meaning soccer to those of us who reside in the USA.

"This summer will see the biggest event in football, the World Cup 2002. To celebrate this event, Disney Store are currently planning to produce 2 Mini Bean Bags featuring Pooh and Tigger. The Mini Bean Bags will have the 2002 embroidery on them, which is sure to make them popular with both Mini Bean Bag Collectors and Guests who are into their football! The design of these Mini Bean Bags has not yet been confirmed but we will keep you posted with new information as and when it is available."

History Recap: In 1998 Disney released a Mickey and Donald Lbbp and keychain set in commemoration of the World Cup. It will be fun to see what they come up with this year using Pooh and Tigger.

Pooh Hugging Heart has arrived in AU DS in time for Valentine's Day. I have not seen the picture of the AU version but I am told that it is the same as the one released last year in the UK

Looks like another version of Owl Pooh has surfaced. The first one (left picture) was released in Japan named Fukurou Lucky Owl Pooh beanbag. This Pooh is dressed in a pink furry Owl outfit and is sitting on a red zabuton (cushion), and is holding a Gold Good Luck hammer. This Pooh is supposed to bring you good luck in the coming year. The second (right picture) Owl Pooh has been released in Hong Kong. The Hong Version is not sitting on a cushion nor does it have a gold hammer in his hand or red bib.

Currently Japan Disneyland has "D-Pop Magic!" where your favorite Disney characters perform to D-Pop tunes inspired by the seven themed lands of Tokyo Disneyland Park! D-Pop Magic runs January 15th - May 31, 2002. In January we saw some mbbp and plush pins released in this theme (below). Today Yoko wanted to share a picture of the characters in the park with us (above).

Just arrived in Disneyland Resort New Easter beans for 2002. Here we see Easter Chocolate Mickey dressed in a bunny outfit and carrying an Easter basket. Next is Easter Minnie in what looks like a yellow fuzzy chicken outfit. Dated 2002 Easter egg emblems show on their feet.

Easter Rabbit Pooh is dressed in shinny furry white Rabbits outfit and is carrying his Easter basket. Eeyore is wearing an blue and purple egg with Happy Easter written on it. Again both characters have dated Easter Egg emblems with 2002 on them.

Chinese Year of the Dog Pooh has just started to show up in USA Disney Stores. He's the fifth in the series of twelve to be released.

February 15, 2002 Disney's Return to Never Land opens in USA Movie Theaters. Best Guest who order $150. in merchandise online or in the catalog between Feb 4 - March 10th can receive this special Return to Never Land Movie poster. Measures 27"L x 18 1/2W

UK/European Disney stores will be releasing a St Patrick's Day Tigger and St
Patrick's Day Pooh dressed as Leprechauns. (pictured above) on the 12th February.

Also due soon is Birthday Cake Marie. This
will be another Zip Up reversible type design, in fact the outside will
appear almost identical to the Pooh Birthday Cake we saw on January 1st,
this time however it will be Pink and Blue with feathers.

Judy sends pictures of Pooh hugging piglet and Tigger hugging Roo found at Toys r'us. Not Disney Store mbbp but they would still make a great addition to any Disney Collector's Collection!

Sherry has written in that she was lucky enough to see Easter Eeyore mbbp at the Disney Store, "Easter Plush you posted a picture of is very much like the Easter Eeyore MBBP I saw today. One of the Disney Store managers at my store showed me the Easter Eeyore and he is so cute. He is the same material as Huggable Eeyore, but for some reason he felt softer. He also has a basket of eggs in his mouth. As I recall he also has a bow on his tail."

Japan Disney Stores released Birthstone Pooh today. February Birthstone Pooh is a Amethyst retails for 1200 yen. The dangle version is 680 yen. Amethyst Pooh wears light purple coat matching the scarf and puts a cap on his head. The scarf around his neck and ties it in front of his neck with
Amethyst.

UK Disney Store reports that UK collectors will be seeing a Marathon Pooh in the future. "Continuing the tradition of releasing Mini Bean Bags to celebrate sporting events across the world, Disney Store is planning on releasing a Mini Bean Bag to celebrate this years London Marathon. This is the first time that we have produced a Bean Bag to celebrate the marathon so it is sure to be a big hit with Collectors and Guests alike. This Limited Edition Exclusive Mini Bean Bag is likely to feature Pooh, dressed and ready for his 26 mile run."

On February 8th 2002 Monsters Inc. will be released in the UK. As we know we have seen Mike, Sulley and Randall bean bags. There is also a planned release of a fourth character from the film, called Boo, but the release date for this has not yet been confirmed.

Our very active 5 year old collector Julia has once again sent us pictures. Here we see Plush Eeyore holding his Easter basket. Look like he is ready for Easter. To the right we see a new interactive Easter Tigger which is a singing plush. Looks like we are going to have a large variety of items for Easter this year!

Just released at Walt Disney World "Ears TO YOU 2002" bean bag. Mickey has on a very colorful tie-dyed type shirt with WDW 2002 motto "Ears TO YOU 2002" and "Walt Disney World" all embroidered on the front! He even has a matching hat with the same motto on it!

Here we see another Candy release with Easter Tigger. He is seen here wearing an Easter Bonnet and holding an egg filled with jelly beanies.

Here you see an Easter Basket with Eeyore on the front. Eeryoe is holding an Easter egg. There is a butterfly on his nose...fur lined grass around the bottom of the basket complimented with eggs, flowers, butterfly's and much more.

Tigger Easter Egg in baby blue. On the outside you see Easter farmer pooh with a wheelbarrow full or eggs, Tigger is bouncing by two Easter eggs, piglet is holding his favorite egg, and Eeyore is wearing his Easter bonnet and holding his Easter basket Inside the Easter egg is five finger puppets.

Next Weeks Releases

When zipped up, it looks like a baby's rattle ball, complete with 'It's a Boy' or 'It's a Girl' embroidery on it. Then when you open it up, there's Pooh hiding inside, dressed in a baby blue or pin hat and nightshirt. Also to be released next Tuesday will be Lady and the Tramp pictured below.

UK Disney stores have just received Mini Eeyore with chocolates for Valentines. He retails at £4.99 Eeyore is half sitting in and half sitting on the chocolates. The box that Eeyore is sitting in turns into a silky container, the top of the box is underneath. When you put it together it makes a silky red box with top with furry edging

New twist on Mini Globes

These new globes are starting to arrive in USA Disney Stores. They sell for $15. which is a bit more than normal mini globes. The globes themselves are mini, but the overall size of the figure and the globe is a little bit bigger than the mini globes sold in the UK. They are done very nicely. I hope to see other characters released in this same style.

New Interactive Plush

Jayne send us information and pictures of a New Interactive Tigger with Piglet Plush which has been released in the Disney Store UK. It costs £14.99.

He says various things when you remove the dragonfly from his nose and put it back on again. Also when you put and put on Piglet. They are attached by velcro.

Hina Matsuri Mickey & Minnie

Yoko sends pictures of Hina Matsuri Mickey and Minnie dolls made in
porcelain. They are available in different two size, the bigger one is 4800 yen and
the other one is 1500 yen. They are pair as Ohinasama and Odairisama, are in the case made from plastic which looks like glass. You can see the standing pole on their right side, it is called Bonbori, it is just same as light stick in America. You also can compare with the size of them to show the second picture.

New D-pop Magic

Today special show called D-Pop Magic started at Tokyo Disneyland and lots of new items were released also. Two of the new items is D-Pop up Mickey and Minnie Plush and plush pins shown below.

1-D-Pop Magic plush Mickey and Minnie, they are about 22 centimeters standing and sell for 2000yen each.

2-D-Pop Magic Mickey and Minnie plush pins are 950 yen each.

Pancake Day mini bean bag was released today. When zipped up this mini bean bag is a lemon complete with lemon smell and stalk. On the outside you see 'Pancake Day Pooh 2002' embroidered on it. But when it's unzipped, inside the lemon is Pooh, holding a frying pan with a pancake cooking in it.

Also released today was Simba and Pooh with Rose which plays "Greensleeves".

30th Anniversary Mickey

WDW Exclusive Mickey is a commemorative limited MICKEY bean bag which was released for Walt Disney World's 30th Anniversary this year. Mickey has on a royal blue satiny jacket the has "MICKEY" on the front and the 30th Anniversary Logo on the back (pictured). He also has a "30th Anniversary" logo embroidered on the bottom of his foot!!

V-Day Mickey/Minnie Hugger Bean Bags (as their tag states) retails for $10.

Mini Globe which features Pooh holding a valentine sucker behind his back. At the top is a heart as around the base. This globe retailed for $12 which was a bit more than the normal $10. we see the globes getting.

UK Disney Stores will released Spring Eeyore, Zip-up Rose Pooh and Figaro on Jan. 22, 2002

Pancake Day mini bean bag release is due Jan 15, 2002. When zipped up this mini bean bag is a lemon, complete with stalk and 'Pancake Day Pooh 2002' embroidery on it. But when it's unzipped, inside the lemon is Pooh, holding a frying pan with a pancake cooking in it.

Rose Pooh is also due out Jan. 15, 2002. Pooh is released with Valentine's in mind as he carries a Rose. If you press his paw you can hear 'Greensleeves' played. Pooh also has the 2002 embroidery on his foot.

Each has a laurel leaf type headdress, red wings and a bow and arrows. These will be £6.99. No release release date as yet for these bean bags.

Pooh and Tigger sit on Plush red heart cushions. Each is holding a rose and they also have sound. Both are also dated. These are already showing up in some stores and retail at £16.99.

Eeyore is dressed in a gold explorers outfit with fur trim accompanied by a baby seal. Eeyore also has a small backpack that he can use to hold things that he has collected whilst out exploring.

Tigger is dressed in a velvet outfit with a fur trim. In his backpack we see a penguin peaking from the side.

The next Best Guest promotion will be the pewter frame pictured here. This is a best guest original created by Leather Treaty, exclusively for Best Guests who purchase $200 or more between January 4, 2002 and February 2, 2002. This frame features Mickey clad in his finest robes as he carries a royal proclamation honoring you as a Best Guest.

Hinamatsuri Baby Donald and Daisy Plush's will be released January 12, 2002. Hinamatsuri is Girls Doll Festival, which will be on the 3rd of March. They are dressed in ancient court costumes. Hina dolls are available as set selling for 3800 yen.

First look at this picture and you might think it is the same "It's A Boy, It's a Girl" that was released in AU DS in 2001 but with a quick check to their feet you will see that this is a new revised version for 2002. Also, the blue shirt on the It's A Boy Pooh
seems to be a bit paler.

Over the last month AU DS has received a number of US releases including
Black Bear Pooh, Brown Bear Pooh, Raccoon Pooh, Moose Pooh, Polar Bear Pooh,
Pajama Mickey and Minnie and a few others. The latest is 50s Pooh, 80s Pooh
and 60s Goofy. The 1964 set is also expected this week.

Little Star Valentine Love Angel Pooh sells for 980 yen. He has a matching dangle available for 580yen. Pooh is white with a pink trimmed hat, shiny angel wings, and is holding a white laced pink heart

Valentine Love Angel Mickey, Donald, and Pluto available in dangles at 580yen and Little Stars which sold for 980yen. Each character is holding pink hearts, and all have shiny angel wings.

When I went to the store today, I was some valentines items creeping in, they kept them in an odd corner of the store, not really noticeable, but I found them!!

I saw two Snowglobes the Eeyore (pictured above). I think the second one was a Pooh one. They both retailed for £9.99

Eeyore Globe : On the outside of the globe at the base is lots of hearts, pink and red in colour and various sizes. Inside the globe is Eeyore sitting with a red heart in his mouth and two smaller pink hearts at his feet. In between his ear and his right paw, he is holding an umbrella, which is outside the globe on the top, but the handle goes inside the globe to Eeyore. The umbrella is red and has pink hearts around it. The "snow" inside is multi-coloured very small square glitter and red heart shaped glitter. On the base of the globe, there is an inscription "Love is in the air" in black writing

They had things like Valentine socks with Tigger and pooh. White love saying night shirts with Eeyore on it retailing for £14.99. Eeyore slippers (£12.99) Red in style with a small Eeyore at the very front and a row of hearts behind him.

Eeyore plush with photoframe (pic attached) £9.99. In between both of his paws, he is holding a furry red heart shaped photo frame, which has a gold arrow appearing to go through it. The photo frame holds a picture 6cm x 6cm. On the right side of Eeyore, on his cheek, he has a sewn on red "lipstick" mark as though someone has kissed him! He has a different style tag. It is shiny metallic red, with a cut out heart shape, letting you see Pooh on the inside. Around the top and bottom is written "I love your hugsxxxxI love your kisses" in white.

Japan Little star Year of the Horse 2002 beanie is currently available from the Australian Disney Store. We have also just received 50's and 80's Pooh. We had Sagittarius Pooh but due to short supply he came & went within 2 days.

8" Poohs are currently selling for $5.95 as well as
7 Dwarf MBBP(with gemstone).

These new releases will be coming to USA Disney Stores in the next corresponding months.

Also, for Valentine's Day there is a set of Mickey and Minnie hugging (arriving in stores now). For Easter there is 'Easter Stacking Characters' (shows Piglet and Pooh) and Easter Eeyore.

Winnie the Pooh doll sitting on a large satin purple heart and holding a smaller heart in his hand. Both Pooh and the hearts are stuffed with fluff. There is a red light within the small heart and 3 red lights along the bottom front of the big heart, which take turns flashing. The picture shows on of the hearts lit up. Just a bit over 5" tall and tagged Tokyo Disneyland c Disney and sold exclusively at Tokyo Disneyland.

Congratulations Pooh, Happy Birthday Pooh and Get Well Dalmatians Mbbp have just been released. Some stores released these new items on Tuesday and others released them today. (As not all stores were open due to the New Year Holiday.)
