Here are all the pictures of the 14 new items. They are 3 1/2 in size. They have jointed arms and legs. As you can see from the picture, they match most of the Pooh's we have seen as Mini Bean Bags. It will be interesting to watch what direction these items take as they release more in the future.

UK penguin Pooh looks like a real penguin and it quite a bit different than the Japan version. There has been some confusion on the blue version. Some have called him a Blue Bird and others a penguin. The UK version also has the interesting addition that his arms are not enclosed in the suit. I have a feeling that we are going to see more Pooh bean bags that resemble the Japan little star line up of animals in the future. Candy Pumpkin Pooh
USA Disney Stores have been receiving Candy Pumpkin Pooh. He is same size as a our regular bean bag but has no beans. He is plush. This is the second one released. The first one was released at Easter in the lime green flower suit.

Japan Little Star Poohs Sushi Little Star Pooh arrives to match Sushi Dangles announced last weekend. Yuki sent these pictures for all of us see what they look like. The Sushi can be removed from Pooh (who is suppose to be rice). Sushi type poohs are Egg, Salmon roe, Octopus, Sea urchin and Prawn

August 22, 2000 NEW item to collect? Well I know I will have a hard time resisting these new items Disney is testing. Even with the picture which doesn't show a lot I can tell that they are going to be a must have. (Of course I am very particular to Mini items anyhow) They are plush mini pooh, NO Beans .... but they resemble Mbbp Bean Bags in design. From left to right we have Picnic Pooh, Pilot Pooh, Sunflower Pooh and Nautical Pooh. Not pictured we know that there will also be Jester, Fireman, bumblebee and Fishing Pooh. There are 14 styles if you know more of the styles please e-mail me. They have jointed arms and legs, cost $7 each. They are not considered a bean bag so you can use your Magic Kingdom card for 10% savings on them. Not all stores will get them as they are a test item. I have only heard of them arriving in the USA. If they are available in other countries e-mail me so we will all know.

Looks like the 'As Tigger' Movie will be released in the USA catalog August 22, 2000. I am not sure of the exact store release date, but my guess would be the same day. It looks like we will be eating McDonalds once again, as they will be promoting this release of the 'As Tigger' Movie with a set of six Keychains. The promotion start date is Aug. 25th and it will run till Sept. 14th, 2000

Looking at the picture below that Angela took of the Disney store version they look identical. So those of you who didn't order them from Disneyland might want to check their local store. August 16, 2000 Looks like September 5th is the street date for the New Disney Catalog. Witchie Pooh and Devil Tigger are reported being in the catalog. Disney stores will receive them this week, some are saying Thursday but I don't know if this is just one store or all. There has been controversy over weather they will be different .....or the same as the ones released in Disneyland. Anyone have more information or better yet pictures... email me September Minnie will be the next Birthstone Minnie for the USA to receive.

Astronaut Mickey & Minnie
Astronaut Mickey and Minnie are different from the USA Space or tomorrowland versions. There are several differences if you look at closely at the pictures. First the new UK ones have black on their mouths. In the picture of the USA ones below you will see that they don't have any black. Then Mickey is blue stripped here and the USA version was red striped. Minnie the USA version was pink and purple and the UK version is red and yellow. Also the UK version didn't forget to dress Minnie with her bow!

I called Disneyland DelivEars a couple of days ago on the New Halloween items. She told me that you can not order them at this time. She did tell me that they should be available for ordering in the next couple of weeks.
August 8, 2000 Today UK releases Robin Hood Pooh and from the reports it shows that there are some small differences between the USA and UK version. Top Pooh is USA Robin Hood and pictures below is UK Version. Differences: Feather in the cap UK pale type yellow/green where as the USA one is red. The UK version has light green belt the USA has dark brown. UK has new faced Pooh, USA old face Pooh. Also how he is holding his bow is another difference we see betweem the two.

Also released in the UK Today was the Thumber and Flower set. Boxed in the same way the Simply Pooh set was, Thumber and Flower come with beans. They are considered bean bags even though they are a bit more furry than most bean bags. September 5-9, 2000 This years theme for the Disneyana convention is "It's a Small World" and the official Bean Bag Set will be three characters inspired by the attraction and they will come in their own plush boat. Not really sure what the characters will look like but this is the picture that has been used in conjunction to them.

Looks like the ghost and goblins are starting to show. Witch Pooh, Cowboy Piglet and Devil Tigger have just been released in Disneyland. Have not head yet if he is exclusive or not. So if anyone spots any of these at the Disney Store email me!
They are all carrying a pumpkin. They are all wearing embroidered date on their feet. Pooh is wearing a black satin cape, and matching witch's hat. On his feet are black satin jester-like boots with BOO embroidered on one side and the year 2000 on the other site in red letters. COWBOY piglet is ready to trick-or-treat. Carrying his pumpkin and dressed as a sheriff complete with gold star he is ready to go. Next we see DEVIL TIGGER and he is wearing a red satin cape and carrying a red pitchfork

USA Catalog Exclusive PLUSH set
This is a plush set exclusive for the USA Catalog. The characters are bean bag size but NO BEANS. This set will be a hard call for most as Collectors of Mbbp as they will be deciding if this set should be added to their collection or not. Would love to hear what you think. August 4, 2000 Disneyland Paris beans I just received my order of the Disneyland Paris exclusive Bean bags. This is the first time I have mail ordered directly from Disneyland Paris. I didn't call (just in case you were wondering.) I emailed my order. Tags were great and I was very happy with the quality and delivery of them from Disneyland Paris. I was a bit disappointed to find out that Winnie Fishing and Winnie Flower were almost identical to the ones already available in the USA. pictures are Thumbnailed. Flower Pooh (left) next to Winnie Flower. I did not notice any real differences between the two bean bags.
Fishing Pooh USA (left) next to the Paris Winnie Fishing. There are some small differences. The fishing string is more like a thread in the USA and the Paris version has a thicker yarn type string. Reminds me of shoe lace. The Paris version also has the newer pooh face. The hand is more formed around the pole and the pole seems a tiny bit fatter. The bobber is sewn on in the USA version and looks to be glued on the Paris version. On Both Paris items the material seems to be a tiny bit darker. You have to look to really notice but there is a difference. Also the mouths seem like they were sewn better on the Paris versions. Also note that I have ordered the Halloween 2000 items Mickey Vampire, Minnie Witch, Pluto Skeleton at the same time and they are saying that they will ship in September. It looks like the Halloween Wheelbarrow set may indeed be a plush and not a Mbbp at was first thought. We are still unsure but reports are being made that it will be a plush just as this pumpkin set from last year. Even as a plush it was still very popular among Disney Mbbp collectors.

August 3, 2000 UK Update on new Releases coming Baloo had a better look at new bean bags coming out in the UK. Flower and Thumper boxed set are not of the same fabric as simply pooh set they are definitely more plush Astronaut Fab 5 are different than the first USA set. Pluto is sitting much as he did in the dapper set. That is standing tall on all fours. The costumes are different slightly though the same silver fabric some of the details have changed. _____________________ I have added new pictures and thought I would share. Today I received my Band Set from WDW. I was very impressed with them. They are much nicer in person than even this pictures show but I am sure you will get the idea. Each picture is Thumbnailed so just click over top of picture to view bigger version.
Also I received my Cruise LBBP Bean bags. I have not seen pictures of some of them before, so once again I thought I would share. Just in case there are collectors out there that might be interested in what they look like. All items below wear a Disney Cruise Line hat and shirt. The back of the shirt has the same logo as the tag sports. They are made out of very nice material and they are packed full of beans. They cost $12 and can still be ordered directly from WDW
Chip and Dale and not as furry as Donald or Pluto. They have a soft, flat fabric. Both have their name embroidered on their foot. The other item available in the Cruise line is Mickey and his cast in a ship. I have not gotten them yet so picture below is courtesy of Betty and resides on the Mickey picture page!

Disney Store online has got Halloween out for preview. I know from past years of collecting that there is usually a theme for each year and we usually see our Mbbp items follow suit. Here we see Werewolf Pooh, Devilish Piglet Skeleton Eeyore, and Franken-Tigger
My guess is that the Halloween Wheelbarrow set (catalog exclusive) characters may be very close in outfits as the cookie jar above. (recap of Heather description..mind you she was talking to a CM trying to get details for us.. so we are still trying to put the picture together) , "In the Wheelbarrow are Tigger (holding a pumpkin,with a purple(?)hat on), Piglet as a Pirate (well maybe they don't know the difference between a pirate and a devilish piglet..hehe), Eeyore as a Witch, and Pooh is pulling the wagon. The CM said he looks like a Vampire and she guessed on the other costumes too. The Halloween set is $32. They were not allowed to give me any item #'s yet. "

Friendship Set USA
Japans release of the Friendship set has come and gone. They were available for purchase one day. I am told that they had more than last year and were quite plentiful. There is still no word on if the USA will get a friendship set. I called the Disney Store today and the CM told me that she had not heard of anything forthcoming. Another CM emailed me to help out on this issue and this was her reply "I just called and asked again and nobody has heard of anything being done, so

Also coming is Astronaut Fab 5 set. They sound very much like the first tomorrowland set released in the USA. Will be interesting to see if they will be identical or not.
Blue penguin Pooh is scheduled for August 29th. Now my guess on this one is that is will be very similar to the leopard Pooh release. In that is it similar in design but it will be a regular pooh and not little star pooh. September will bring the Halloween items starting with Tigger Broom, Pooh wearing Halloween pumpkin, Eeyore Witch. These Halloween items are be exclusive limited edition to the UK |
