April 26, 2000 Not much News to post today. I did notice that local Disney stores in the USA got a Graduation Owl plush. He is a really nice plush. I was very tempted with him. Thought he would look good with my other graduation mbbp :o) Also noticed a New Pooh Plush... Springtime Pooh. Spring time Pooh is dressed in his red shirt, wearing a denim apron, and has a floppy yellow hat. He is holding a bouquet of sheer flowers tied with a bow. Pooh is sitting in a very pretty, "hat" type box with the entire thing wrapped in plastic topped with a lavender bow.

__________________________________ UK Release of Pooh Slammer, Father's Day Donald and Dumbo's Five Clown is today. April 24, 2000 Little Stars Thanks Yuki and Sarah for the information and pictures! Japan- These Poohs that matched the Dangle poohs are going to be called "Little Stars" not "Bean Bags". This is the same for Pineapple Pooh also. We also see pictured below the release of Five Piglets. Now that was a surprise since I had only heard Pooh was coming. Some stores have released items earlier than other Japan Disney Stores. They Retail at 980 Yen each

Some people say that these are more plush like than Bean Bags we are used to in the USA. I think I have to agree. But try as I might I still want them! hehe Thanks to Alan for the information. He has them for sale at his Disney page Ok, Now it is QUESTION TIME Some time last year I found these pictures. I don't remember the website so I could not go back there to ask questions. Anyhow these are from Japan. They do not appear to have a Disney Store tag so I would assume they are licensed Disney. When I found these pictures Dangles were new to Japan. When Dangles first hit they were licensed Disney and did not come with DS Tags. Are they plush? Japan, McDonalds and Disney! They do have beans in them! Well it looks as if the UK is not the only one running a McDonalds Disney Promotion. Yuki send this picture showing the items that can be purchased at McDonalds in Japan. Some stores have released early but the official release date is April 20th. There is no choice in what you get ....as the bags are sealed and you can not see what is inside them until you open them. Yuki "We can't choose them and we can't look contents till the bag opened..." Lily also wrote in and this is what she had to say,

UK McDonalds starts Disney Happy Meals
The Big Bean reported that McDonalds is now running a Disney Promotion. Above is the promo picture showing what is being released. They have 8 to collect and most do something. Tigger boings, roo jumps and Kanga has an interchangeable hat. Next week will be the released of the others, pooh, rabbit, gopher, eeyore and piglet. They are bigger than the last Disney promotion they did and are much better than last years There were four in the set from last year. They were finger puppets. I didn't open mine and this is what they looked like through the bag. Sorry not the best photo. Click to see bigger photo. I made them smaller for the page to help with quicker loading.
PIN NEWS For those of you who collect Pins I found an interesting one today. It is sorcerer Mickey's Hat on plastic ear holder. When you buy WDCC Membership you get a pamplet of information. Well in this pamplet is a card you can redeem at your local dealer. You do have to buy a statue to redeem it with card.

MAY MINNIE Originally I heard April 17th would be the street date for ordering and the catalog items. I am not sure if that is still correct. Anyone know? Free shipping for orders over $50. I know you can use your Disney discount card through the catalog to receive 10% and looks like they still have Easter Egg hunt going for another way to get a discount on your order. If any other specials show up I will let you know. Please check updates on Collector's Alert Forum during the day and I will post any other information I come across there.

Tuesday is also shipment Day for USA Disney Stores. I don't know if all stores are on the same schedule or not... but this week at my local store scheduled delivery is Tuesday and Thursday. Of course that doesn't mean anything will come in ...but I will be hoping!
April 10, 2000 Update: Yuki Contacted Disney Store in Japan and found this out... The cast told me that Pineapple Pooh beanie would be release in
15th April. There were a few minority DS that received him on 7th April but
most will receive him on the 15th of April. He was not classified as Bean Bag by DS.
THANKS YUKI! To this I would say it is up to you to decide if you want him
included in the Bean Bag list. Dragon Pooh was considered Bean Bag by most of us
collectors so do you want Pineapple Pooh in this category also? Bean or Plush?
I have had three reports that this is Plush. I did email April and she said it was Bean. I know it is about 6" in size and reached 8" with his head topper. Yuki reported that when she talked to Japan DS CM they told here that Pineapple pooh series were to include Keychain, Figures and plush. No mention of Bean Bag. So I guess the polls are open. Bean Bag or Plush?

they should not have been put out yet so those who got them already were lucky as others

April 6, 2000 Mickey and Minnie Graduation 2000 These are Mbbp and You can wish list them today at WDW Walt Disney World Phone number (407) 363-6200, fax (407) 363-4918 The are $8 each and they charge $8.95 shipping. (I think up to $100 items ordered) This is how they are doing them. They pull them out for Graduation Party five weekends in a row. The last weekend ends on May 12th. Then depending on what is left from this event they will allocate so many to mail order wish list request. So even calling to Wish List them does not guarantee you will get them. But it is worth a try! :o)

April 3, 2000 SHIPPING of Aussie Bean Bags I have had quite a few emails asking about shipping, numbers, and information regarding ordering of the Olympic Bean Bags coming this August. I know some of you were disappointed in how your Bean Bags arrived from Australia. I want to share what I have learned from a Australian CM, "Shipping is another matter as TDS in Australia doesn't have set shipping rate & therefore stores charge their own shipping. By this release hopefully TDS here will have standardized shipping in place. What these people didn't realize is that we didn't even know anything about bean bags then, as a collectible, and were totally unprepared as most stores would have never had had to do an O/S shipping before. Using Australia Post costs I have devised a shipping chart for my store giving both the airmail /10 days max. or eco/air / 2-3weeks rates per weight. Unlike WDW it is not set rate for QTY 1-4 1 was A$11.75 4 about A$22 for airmail I will be moving this information on shipping to the phone numbers page. As it gets closer to ordering time in Australia I will update information to give you the best and most accurate guide I can. But please do remember ... not all stores do the same thing and please refrain from negative comment that is not constructive on the Forum and Alert boards. There are wonderful people out there and we don't always know all the circumstances :o) Hopefully it will help us all be more informed and kinder to those helping us fulfill our collection!
